Feb. 14, 2025 - The sand is calling, and the race for the national championship in collegiate beach volleyball is officially on! The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has released its preseason poll, and it's a familiar face at the top. The USC Trojans have claimed the No. 1 spot, garnering 11 first-place votes. They'll look to build on their legacy and defend their presumed title from last season (as no record is listed for any team in the preseason poll).

Hot on their heels are the TCU Horned Frogs, who snagged a whopping 16 first-place votes. Clearly, the coaches see TCU as a major contender this season. UCLA rounds out the top three, collecting one first-place vote. The Bruins always pose a threat, and this year appears to be no different.

The top five is rounded out by Cal Poly at No. 4 and Stanford at No. 5. Cal Poly also received a single first-place vote. These teams will be looking to break into the top tier and challenge for national supremacy.

  11. Arizona State - 298 points

  15. Texas - 133 points

  16. FAU - 131 points

  17. FIU - 94 points

  18. T- North Florida - 83 points

  19. T- GCU - 83 points

  20. Stetson - 71 points

It's important to remember that these are just preseason rankings. As the season unfolds and teams begin to compete, we're sure to see plenty of movement in the polls. Several other teams received votes, including Arizona, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, and South Carolina, indicating a depth of talent across the nation. One thing is certain: the 2025 college beach volleyball season promises to be an exciting one!
